On June 13th, ConRuhr gathered 32 American and Canadian students
for ConRuhr's annual 'Meetings of the Minds' event, in Essen, including
a tour of the Zeche Zollverein and a visit to the Dortmund Concert hall,
sponsored by the Initativkreis Ruhrgebiet. This group of talented students
is doing internships in the Ruhr area, funded via DAAD's prestigious R.I.S.E.
scholarships. See Photos.

| February 1st-4th, 2008: Meet ConRuhr at MIT, European Career Fair |
|
February 1st-4th ConRuhr will meet with students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) 12th Annual European Career Fair to present study and internship possibilities in the Ruhr alliance.

| August 13th, 2007: Ruhr meets Manhattan - Urban planning workshop |
|
| 25 Duisburg-Essen geography students learned hands-on about complexities of city planning during an interactive workshop organized by the ConRuhr office in Manhattan.
During the 1-day workshop students were able to meet with experts from New York City like Professor Gong from Hunter College and Eric Kober, Director of the New York City Department of Housing. The visit at ConRuhr was part of their 14-day tour through the North-east of the USA.

| August 7th 2007: NRW Landtag in Manhattan |
|
Top politicians from the NRW parliament visited ConRuhr,New York City, on August 7, 2007 where they participated in ConRuhr's Workshop on German-American Academic Cooperation. The delegation gained insights into the work of international network and scholarship organizations and engaged in lively discussions particularly on how to achieve a balance between competition and cooperation.
After the workshop, ConRuhr took the delegation to New York University and the Deutsches Haus to provide them with a best practice example of a US university. From Diane Yu, Chief of Staff and Deputy to the President, they learned first-hand about marketing strategies and effective university administration. Ewald Groth, head of the delegation, thanked ConRuhr: “We received very valuable insights and will take a lot of inspiring material for discussions home with us.”
