The Ruhr Friends and Alumni Network (RuhrFAN) is an active group of over 1500 colleagues worldwide who are connected to the Ruhr area.
Join us! ConRuhr USA is looking for Americans or Germans currently living in the USA who spent some time in the Ruhr-area. We would like to:
- Ask for your opinion and advice
- Build up our USA-Ruhr mentoring network
- Invite you to social, cultural, and academic events
- Let you know about colleagues from the Ruhr area who might be working near you.

Sharing Ruhr Memories: 150 Alumni celebrate in New York

The ConRuhr team would like to thank everyone who joined us at this year’s Friends and Alumni Gala. With almost twice as many participants as last year, the grand room at the ‘University Club’ was filled to capacity.
Key note speakers at this year’s gala included:
- Andreas Pinkwart, NRW minister for Innovation, Science, Research, and Technology
- Elmar Weiler, Rector of the University of Bochum
- Dick Brandt, President of the Global Village for Future Leaders, Lehigh University.
Next year’s Gala dinner will take place again in New York City, within the first two weeks of December.
