September 2008: ConRuhr begins 30 University tour

Coming soon to a university near you: ConRuhr teamed up with DAAD, CDS, and Study-in-Germany to begin it's 30 university tour, letting students know about study and research possibilites in the Ruhr area. This year's tour focuses on Utah, florida, and California. The tour will run through January 2009. To find out when the Study-in-Germany table will be on your campus, contact: office@conruhr.org.

June 2008: Ruhr in The Economist

The rejuventation of the Ruhr area from the former heart of German Steel and Coal processing to a now green, vibrant
cultural space has been catching attention in the USA. A recent article in 'The Economist' focused on Duisburg.

May 2008: ConRuhr's "Meeting of the Minds" in Essen

On June 13th, ConRuhr gathered 32 American and Canadian students
for ConRuhr's annual 'Meetings of the Minds' event, in Essen, including
a tour of the Zeche Zollverein and a visit to the Dortmund Concert hall,
sponsored by the Initativkreis Ruhrgebiet. This group of talented students
is doing internships in the Ruhr area, funded via DAAD's prestigious R.I.S.E.
scholarships. See Photos.

April 2008: TransAtlantic Water Symposium

ConRuhr's TransAtlantic Water Symposium took place March 31 - April 1 at Louisianna State University.
The Symposium brought together Ruhr-area and American experts on topics related to
water and water management, including a tour by the US Army corps of engineers to the Bonnet
Carre spillway, pump stations, and the 17th street canal breach site in New Orleans.

February 1st-4th, 2008: Meet ConRuhr at MIT, European Career Fair
February 1st-4th ConRuhr will meet with students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) 12th Annual European Career Fair to present study and internship possibilities in the Ruhr alliance.
