The First Annual ConRuhr Friends and Alumni Gala Dinner took place December 15th 2006 in New York City. This dinner brought together academic, cultural, and business leaders in the USA who share a common connection to the Ruhr Area. Keynote speakers included Eberhart Becker, Rector University of Dortmund, Peter Lampe, CEO of the Initiativkreis Ruhrgebiet, and Martin Apfel, Executive Director, Global Manufacturing, General Motors Corportation.
